I recently took a break from Twitter and for a few weeks didn't look at any of the educational blogs that I follow or check Twitter that often. I always take holiday in August, in between teaching and admissions work, but this year felt especially tired. I realised I needed rest and space. Taking a break from communicating in a very public way and not feeling as though I had to engage seemed to help my brain pause. I realised how valuable this was and how I actually need to factor time in for not engaging and just allow myself to be. This is probably one of the kindest things we can do for ourselves-pause and just be.
of focusing on breathing in and out, acknowledging where you feel the breath and taking note of how your boy and mind feel is very grounding. It stops all of the other chatter, lets you find the present and remind yourself that everything will be as it is. I think that practising this has made me less reactive, more present and more focused and it is possible to practice this anytime and anyplace as your breath is always with you. A very useful lesson learnt.
