So I investigated and online yoga is everywhere with all different styles, classes to stream or download, different levels, different instructors, with additional fitness classes, pay monthly, watch on YouTube the list was endless. After many searches and deliberation I settled on Yogaglo and have been really happy with what they offer.
Yogaglo is a pay monthly online yoga studio. It is American and is $18/month with no contract. You can search for classes by level, style, area you want to work on, time you have available and instructor. They organise their classes into programmes or themes so that you can do a number of classes around the same theme. I like the fact that you can download classes rather than stream them as our broadband is notoriously slow. You can also add classes to the 'my class' function which for me has been excellent - as a newcomer to yoga I am focusing on 3 or 4 classes to begin to increase my flexibility and strength. I have only looked at level 1 classes so far but the instruction has been excellent. Advice is given on correct positioning and also on alternative props that can be used so if you don't have yoga blocks they may suggest a pillow et cetera. I have found the instruction very calm and alternative moves are discussed varying on your level of flexibility. After each class I feel invigorated my mind and body are more connected and my posture has improved considerably. There are also classes that take you 'beyond the mat' that consider some of the philosophical and historical elements of yoga. I have also tried some of the meditation classes and again been impressed. Yogaglo has been excellent for me but may not suit everyone. Whichever style/class you go with I can highly recommend online yoga it has been a true revelation to find it. Online yoga...who knew?
